Chilmark selectmen voted to unanimously to prohibit drones from flying above Squibnocket and Lucy Vincent beaches at their July 25 meeting. On the recommendation of executive secretary Tim Carroll, who cited both an established drone culture and the potential for a ban to be unlawful, the selectmen opted not to include Menemsha Beach and its environs in the prohibition.
