Local students excel at the South Shore Regional Science Fair

The South Shore Regional Science Fair was held at Bridgewater State University on Saturday, March 10.

Noah Glasgow ’21 of Chilmark won first place and a Navy Award for “Creamery Sanitation Method Efficacies Relative to Creamery Surfaces.” Charlie Fenske ’18 of Edgartown won first place and a Navy Award for his engineering project, “Analysis of Morphing Wings to Enhance Aircraft Efficiency.”

Charlie was also honored to speak at the event about his experience presenting at the International Science and Engineering Fair in 2017. In 2016, Charlie won the Virgin Galactic Pioneer Award at the Google Science Fair. Dr. Alison Ament accepted a 2017 first-place trophy for the joint project by Charlie and Falmouth Academy alumnus Théo Guerin ’17.

A second-place award was given to Gedeon Pil ’19 of Vineyard Haven for his project, “The Effect of Various Alcohols on Cloud Chamber Reactivity.”
