At the Oct. 1, 1:15 pm game of the Edgartown Bridge Club in Vineyard Haven, 10 tables were in play. Finishing in first place in the North-South direction were Dotti Arnold and Cheryl Neal, followed by Mollie Whalen and Bea Phear in second, Sandy and Michael Lindheimer in third, and Jack Reese and John O’Keefe in fourth place. In the East-West direction, Cyndee Dennehy and Karen Sullivan finished first, followed by Barbara Besse and Wink Winkelman in second, George and Isabel Shattuck in third, and. Diane Drake and Lolly Hand in fourth place.
Twelve pairs competed at the Oct. 2, 7 pm game of Martha’s Vineyard Bridge Club in Vineyard Haven. Finishing in first place overall were Dotti Arnold and Cheryl Neal, followed by David Donald and Michel Riel in second, Michael and Sandy Lindheimer in third, Barbara Silk and Mollie Whalen in fourth, and Diane Drake and Lolly Hand in fifth.
And on Oct. 4, the Island Bridge Club held its annual meeting prior to the bridge game. The following nonprofits were named as this year’s recipients: Up-Island Council on Aging, Hospice of Martha’s Vineyard, Community Services for opioid issues, and Island Food Pantry. In the game that followed, 10 pairs competed. First place overall went to Dave Donald and Cecily Greenaway, followed by Don Nelson and Wink Winkelman in second, John O’Keefe and Michael Lindheimer in third, and Caroline Baum and Gerry Averill in fourth.
