While we are waiting
awash in the worst
for the cycle to swing
again toward justice
and forward to singing
in the plainest harmony
let us stay awake and sane
Keeping even closer
to our shared spirit-heart
the shining hub of eternity
from which the ever
passing spokes of history
turn the great wheel
into the light.
