Martha’s Vineyard Community Services (MVCS) is gearing up for its third low-number license plate charitable auction of the year.
Starting on Dec. 3 and continuing through Dec. 13, folks will get another chance to have their lucky number on a specialty Martha’s Vineyard license plate. All plates have the letters “MV” aligned vertically next to an image of the ferry.
MV license plates are part of the Massachusetts RMV specialty plate program. Proceeds from plate sales directly benefit Martha’s Vineyard Community Services and other Island nonprofits that benefit youth and elders.
In order to determine which plates will go into the third auction, MVCS has provided an online survey where the public can decide.
MVCS has committed to donating 20 percent of annual net proceeds to other Island nonprofits through the Driving the Future Charitable Fund, a collaborative effort between MVCS and the Permanent Endowment for Martha’s Vineyard.
