I originally conceived of this week’s Vineyard Scene to be fans watching Game 4 of the Sox-Dodgers World Series at various sports bars in Oak Bluffs. It became apparent before long that people were really out on the town dressed in Halloween attire instead. So I switched gears on the fly, and decided to capture the evening from a ghost and goblin perspective instead. The Loft and the Ritz seemed to be the focus of the ghoulish activity. About 80 percent of the crowd were in outfits — and everyone was out to have fun. Coincidentally, MVRHS was holding its 30th class reunion at the Loft, which attracted much attention during the earlier portion of the evening. Then the party was on for all the trick-or-treaters.
