If your mom is like me, she’ll love any gift you give her on Mother’s Day. But if she’s like me, she’d also love the gift of a Sunday brunch at one of the Island’s terrific restaurants. It’s a real gift not to prepare your own meals, and it is her day, after all.
If you really want to treat her right, take Mom to check out the Harbor View Hotel’s new Bettini Restaurant for Sunday brunch. They’re accepting reservations at 508-627-3761, and the menu is enormous — mini lobster pot pies, crispy duck leg confit, smoked salmon potato salad, and, of course, an omelet station. See the menu for yourself at harborviewhotel.com.
Also new this Mother’s Day is Town, the restaurant that sits in the old Grill on Main spot on Upper Main Street in Edgartown. They’ve got an excellent-looking brunch menu for Mother’s Day, which includes a buffet with all of Mom’s favorites. Call 774-310-8696 to make a reservation, or for more info, visit townbarmv.com.
If you’re up-Island, try State Road’s always delish brunch, whether it’s ricotta toast or a fried green tomato sandwich you’re looking for this West Tisbury restaurant won’t disappoint. Call 508-693-8582 for reservations or visit stateroadrestaurant.com for more info.
The Aquinnah Shop is open for brunch Saturday and Sunday beginning Mother’s Day weekend, 9 am to 3 pm. Nothing beats looking out the windows onto the Cliffs and the ocean below. I’ve been waiting through a long, cold winter to get up there for breakfast, and maybe it’ll be nice enough to sit outside. Call to ask about the Mother’s Day menu, 508-645-3867, or visit theaquinnahshop.com.
Grab a pink mimosa for mom at Farm Neck Cafe’s Mother’s Day brunch. She might like it with a brunch burger made up of beef, bacon, fried egg, and cheddar on a brioche bun. Call 508-693-3560 or visit farmneck.net/cafe for more info.
The Ocean View in Oak Bluffs gives you fresh and tasty brunch options for the moms out there. When we called to ask about the menu, they were just putting on the finishing touches, but my bet is on the Eggs Benedict. Visit oceanviewrestaurantmv.com for the rest of the options, and call 508-693-2207 to book your table.
If you’re sticking around Oak Bluffs, don’t forget Park Corner’s brunch. They’re famous for it, Mother’s Day or not, and they serve brunch from 11 am to 3 pm, so there’s plenty of time to make a reservation. Call 508-696-9922 or visit them on Facebook.
The Dunes at Winnetu leaves nothing behind in its Mother’s Day brunch menu. With a menu that includes everything from prime rib to grilled swordfish to a waffle station, the Dunes has it all covered. And they’ve got a children’s buffet. Visit winnetu.com, or call 508-627-3663.
Barn Bowl & Bistro has Mom covered at its Sunday brunch from 11 am to 3 pm, with a menu that includes shrimp cocktail and crab cakes Benedict. Call 508-696-9800, or visit barnmv.com, for more info.
Catch Mother’s Day brunch at Edgartown Diner from 8 am to 3 pm, where you’ll find traditional — and delicious — dishes. Call 508-627-9337 to ask for some menu highlights. I’m pretty sure grilled cornbread is on the menu.
If we missed any must-try brunches, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we’ll be sure to include them in this list.
