At the June 17, 1:15 game of the Edgartown Bridge Club, 12 tables were in play. First place in the North-South direction went to Dave Donald and Barbara Silk, followed by Rich Peia and John O’Keefe in second. Tied for third place were Sandy and Michael Lindheimer, and Bea Phear, playing with Mollie Whalen. Fifth place went to Diana Dozier and Gerry Averill. In the East-West direction, Barbara Besse and Wink Winkelman finished first, followed by George and Isabel Shattuck in second, Brooks Robards and Jim Kaplan in third, Karen Sullivan and Cyndee Dennehy in fourth, and Judy Maynes and Joanne Rau in fifth place.

Twelve pairs competed in a club championship at the June 18, 7 pm game of the Martha’s Vineyard Bridge Club in Vineyard Haven. First place overall went to Joan Perrine and Ken Judson, followed by Story Osborne and Michael Lindheimer in second, Barbara Besse and Sandy Lindheimer in third, and David Donald and Michel Riel in fourth place. Also earning masterpoints for a fifth-place finish were John O’Keefe and Rich Peia.

And at the June 20, 7 pm game of the Island Bridge Club in West Tisbury, 12 pairs competed. Finishing in first place were Dave Donald and Rich Colter, followed by Sandy and Michael Lindheimer in second, Bea Phear and Mollie Whalen in third, Barbara Besse and Story Osborne in fourth, and Bari Boyer and Carol Whitmarsh in fifth place.

The Bridge Club of Martha’s Vineyard is starting its summer games at the Tisbury Senior Center. Play starts at 9:30 on Saturday mornings, but come at 9 am for a breakfast snack. At the game held on June 15, five tables competed. First place in the North-South direction went to Joan Perrine and Ken Judson, followed by Cheryl Neal and Dotti Arnold in second place. For East-West, Susan Goodrich and Mary Wagner finished first, followed by Brooks Robards and Jim Kaplan in second place. At the June 22 game, five tables were again in play. First place North-South was taken by Bari Boyle and Carol Whitmarsh, while Joan Perrine and Patsy McCornack finished second. In the East-West direction, Barbara Alleyne and Trudy Ulmer finished in first place, followed by Vicki Aldeborgh and Abe Seiman in second.
