The defending champion Creamers stayed unbeaten with a 12-3 win over the Rug Sox in Martha’s Vineyard Women’s Softball League action Tuesday night at Veterans Park.
The Creamers had their bats going from multiple sources. Kelly Silvia went 2 for 3, and homered in the sixth inning; Kelly Bowse went yard in the third; Lindsay Kleeman had three singles and scored three runs; Kendall Robinson also had three hits and scored twice; Anne Sullivan singled in the third inning and tripled in the fourth; Julie Rodenbaugh singled twice and scored twice; and Tara Dinkel, Brae Eddleston, and Becca Sharp added two hits apiece. Dinkel pitched a complete game, and helped her cause with her glove.
For the Sox, Emily Mello singled and scored two runs; Marisa Estrella had an RBI and a run scored; Katherine Clark had a pair of hits; Morgen Schroeder and Kya Maloney each knocked in a run, and Maloney made an outstanding catch to rob Kelly Bowse of an extra base hit.
Earlier in the evening, the Snaps beat the Mama’s Girls, 11-5. Elissa Decosta hit 4 for 4 and scored two runs for the Snaps; Lauren Merry had three hits and scored in the first inning; Emily Monteiro had two hits and scored twice; and Kelly Marolf scored two runs. Amy Maciel, Sue Stephenson, Jackie Millard, Emily Monteiro, Nicole Leblonde, and Kate Hennigan each had two hits for the Snaps.
Lauren Williston homered and singled to lead the Mamas. Cana Courtney and Jess Matus each hit three singles and scored a run, Jenna Coutinho hit a triple, and Hayley Panek had a pair of hits.
