The Martha’s Vineyard United Soccer Grade 7 girls team reached the Massachusetts Tournament of Champions (MTOC) this year. The tournament occurred this past weekend. This was the only Martha’s Vineyard team to make it to MTOC.
The MTOC is a tournament where the top two teams from each league in Massachusetts face each other. The Grade 7 girls team won first place in the South Coast Soccer League (SCSL). They were one of two SCSL teams to compete in MTOC.
Although the Grade 7 girls were unable to reach the semifinals, “they represented Martha’s Vineyard well by playing hard, as a team, and with respect,” said Matt Malowski, president of Martha’s Vineyard United Soccer, in an email. “Congrats to our players and coaches.”
