Does your kid like to dismantle your living room lamps and reassemble them? More interested in building birdhouses than playing computer games? Then you might just have a budding tradesperson living with you.
On Saturday, Oct. 11, from 12 to 4 pm, SparkMV, hosted by the Martha’s Vineyard Builders Association, in partnership with TradesUp, aims to spark passion in the hearts, minds, and hands of young people by providing hands-on experiences designed by tradespeople.
Participants will have the opportunity to try a variety of trades, including carpentry, plumbing, woodworking, electrical, masonry, HVAC, and more. Food and drinks provided. This event is free and open to all ages.
Rain or shine at the Agricultural Hall, 35 Panhandle Road, West Tisbury. To register, visit mvbuilders.org/sparkmv2025. To learn more about SparkMV, listen to their interview with MVY Radio from Sept. 26 at bit.ly/Soundcloud_SparkMV
