Senior Captain Elle Mone of the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School (MVRHS) girls’ varsity hockey team scored her 100th career point against Barnstable High School last Friday, becoming the first female hockey player to do so since Aubrey Ashman reached 100 points in 2014. The Vineyarders went on to win the game 11-3.
Speaking about the accomplishment, Elle highlighted the importance of dedication and her teammates. “I thought I was going to do it, but I didn’t know for sure …[it took] going to practices and games these past four years, trying to get better, and just showing up,” she said. “My line mates have given me a lot of points because of the goals they’ve scored and the passes they’ve given me.”
