The sale of the longtime Vineyard Haven home of Mocha Mott’s has been finalized.
The building at 15 Main St. in Vineyard Haven was sold by Good Coffee LLC to Toccopuro LLC for $2.4 million on Jan. 30.
Toccopuro owns coffee shops in Edgartown and Oak Bluffs, where specialty coffee, breakfast and lunch items, and bubble tea are sold.
It remains unknown what plans Toccopuro has for its new property. A representative of Toccopuro wasn’t immediately available for comment.
Mocha Mott’s inhabited the Main Street location starting in 2004. The property includes a basement and upstairs apartments, and houses the next-door smokeshop Island Puff n Pass.
The building went on the market in September for $2.9 million after Mocha Mott’s co-owner, Tim Dobel, who had been in the Vineyard restaurant industry for nearly 50 years, retired and handed the business over completely to business partner Meredith Aldrich. Aldrich decided to downsize, and will operate only out of Circuit Avenue in Oak Bluffs, where Mocha Mott’s was originally established in 1994, though for a longer season.
Mocha Mott’s was a beloved coffee shop in Vineyard Haven, and held a heartfelt goodbye for its customers last month.
