On Saturday, May 2, at 3:30 pm, the West Tisbury library is hosting a discussion with Susan Desmarais, a retired grief counselor and end-of-life doula.
Change is inevitable — anticipated or not — and our lives are impacted. How we respond, how our friends and community respond, makes a difference. This discussion will offer insights into our reactions and our processing of the event.
Drawing on insights from “Shattered Assumptions” by Ronnie Janoff-Bulman and “The Other Side of Change” by Maya Shankar, along with her own experience as a counselor, Desmerais will lead a talk on how to better support our loved ones and fellow Island residents.
