The Minnesingers of Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School will present their annual spring concert on Saturday, May 9, at 7 pm, and Sunday, May 10, at 2 pm, at the Performing Arts Center.
The singers have just returned from a tour in Northern Italy, where they participated in a cultural exchange, performing in cathedrals and music schools. The spring performance of the Minnesingers, known for their energy and musicality, is often their most lighthearted show of the year. This year also marks the retirement of their longtime pianist, Nancy Rogers, who was a part of the original Minnesingers group when it was founded in 1968. This is the final show for Rogers.
Led by director Abigail Chandler, herself a former member, the Minnesingers carry on a longstanding tradition as part of the Island’s arts community. Their spring concert is a must-see.
