The end of the school year is near, but before students can head into summer break, there are a couple of public events at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School (MVRHS) this spring to celebrate student achievement and creativity.

The performing arts department’s Spring Concert is Tuesday, May 19, from 6 to 8 pm at the MVRHS Performing Arts Center (PAC). It features major groups from the department, such as chorus, vocal ensemble, orchestra, concert band, percussion ensemble, and the MV Big Band.

The next night, Wednesday, May 20, from 6 to 9 pm, is Evening of the Arts, which showcases work from students in the art, design, and technology department. Displayed in the Triangle Gallery at MVRHS, the work includes special showcases by seniors and advanced students, as well as a fashion show, story slam, and the Vineyard Conservation Society award ceremony. There’s music by performing arts department students, and a performance by students in the Navigator and Voyager program of the “Wizard of Oz” in the PAC.

Honors Night is the next day, from 6 to 8 pm in the PAC. All departments hand out awards for excellence, effort, and leadership. Students can also receive school- and districtwide awards.

Performing arts department students perform Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on Friday and Saturday, May 22 and 23, at 6 pm.

And on Friday, June 5, Class Night is at the Tabernacle in Oak Bluffs, from 6 to 9 pm. This is when seniors are awarded more than 400 scholarships.

The MVRHS 67th Commencement Exercises for the class of 2026 takes place on Sunday, June 7, from 1:30 to 3:30 pm, also at the Tabernacle. Seating opens at 12:30 pm.
