Fat Ronnie’s Burger Bar will be giving away its signature item on National Burger Day. Fat Ronnie’s was founded by Reynaldo “Ronnie” Faust, whose grandmother, Maxine Faust, was the first black female union butcher in the country and a pillar of Harlem.

In 2013, Faust carried the five-generation family business forward with the opening of a butcher-forward burger bar in Oak Bluffs. Using his grandmother’s signature recipes and thick, pub-style Angus beef burgers, Fat Ronnie’s became a local favorite, tourist destination, and celebrity haunt in The Vineyard, frequented by the likes of Spike Lee, Barack and Michelle Obama, and Kamala Harris. This spring, Fat Ronnie’s expanded to Manhattan, bringing the legacy full circle.

To celebrate, on Tuesday, May 28th, Fat Ronnie’s Burger Bar (7 Circuit Ave) will be giving away ‘Fat Ronnie’ burgers to the first 100 guests. 7 Circuit Ave, Oak Bluffs. Starting at 5 pm.
