The Chilmark Community Trust is launching a summer series of free family and community events at The Yard, a longtime Chilmark performing arts nonprofit.
“Summer @ The Yard, with the Chilmark Community Trust,” will consist of family programming on Tuesday evenings and a Friday lunch series in July and August.
Currently, seven family-oriented events are confirmed for this summer, including live music, a ghost story night, and a movie night. The lunch series will center around conversations about Chilmark’s history, culture, and lifestyles. Attendees can buy food from an array of yet-to-be-announced Chilmark vendors or bring their own.
Last September, The Yard announced that it was taking a year-long hiatus due to the impacts of state and federal grant cuts. However, an itinerary for the organization’s Kids Do Dance camp for this summer is advertised on their website.
According to the Trust’s website, it “exists to foster connection, belonging, and shared experience through programs offered for all ages that reflect the spirit, values, and traditions of Chilmark.” For more information on the events lineup, visit https://chilmarkcommunitytrust.org/events.
