Celebrating 61 Years of Environmental Advocacy, Education, and Stewardship The Vineyard Conservation Society (VCS) invites the community to attend its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, June 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Stillpoint in West Tisbury. Islands Under Pressure: A Conversation About Our Land, Water & Future, is an evening of conversation around the shared challenges and advocacy work being done on both the Vineyard and Nantucket.
At this year’s meeting, VCS Executive Director Samantha Look and Executive Director of the Nantucket Land & Water Council, Emily Molden, will discuss the most pressing issues each community faces, including housing and development, water quality, and the protection of open space. The conversation will be moderated by Mindy Todd, host of WCAI’s The Point.
The event offers an opportunity for VCS members, supporters, and the broader public to come together, reflect on the organization’s work over the past year, and engage in a thoughtful dialogue about the future of Martha’s Vineyard.
“We are very grateful to Emily Molden, and we’re excited to share and compare ideas with this advocacy leader on Nantucket,” Look said. “Our islands face many similar environmental challenges, and there’s so much we can learn from each other.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, connect with board and staff members, and learn more about VCS’s work. Free and Open to the Public. For questions, email lucas@vineyardconservation.org or call 508-693-9588. Head to vineyardconservation.org for more information.
