Showing now: A Gallery Art & Design’s inaugural solo exhibition, “New Worlds / Magic City”, features sixteen mixed-media artworks by Nicholas Grassi. Grassi explores energetic dynamism through large-scale paintings and drawings that pack chaos onto expansive surfaces. His process begins by sketching people in public and private, continuously redrawing them to capture shifting positions and build intense visual energy.
Grassi’s prior exhibitions on the Island include: The Workshop Gallery in 2024 and StillPoint, 2025. He is a painter, illustrator, and storyteller. A Boston native and Island summer resident, Grassi holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in Illustration and Drawing and earned his MFA from the New York Studio School.
