On Saturday, August 1, at the MVRHS tennis courts, SWEAR, an MVRHS program focused on preventing gender-based violence, is partnering with the M.V. Open through Vineyard Family Tennis.

The tournament will feature men’s, women’s, and mixed-doubles divisions, with four skill levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced, and open. The open division will have cash prizes of $500 for first place and $250 for second place.

All proceeds will go to SWEAR, and help cover an overnight retreat for 35 MVRHS juniors each year. During the retreat, students participate in discussions and activities focused on topics such as consent, healthy relationships, gender-based violence, pornography, and other issues that impact young people.

Free for spectators. There is also a silent auction. For more information, or if you would like to become a sponsor, visit vineyardfamilytennis.org/mv-open.html.
