Award winning illustrator and fine artist, E.B. Lewis has illustrated over 90 books for children. He has received several awards for his work including: 2025 Coretta Scott King Award, 2004 Caldecott Honor, and New York Times 2016 Best Illustrated Book Award, and many more.
As early as the third grade, Lewis showed artistic promise. In sixth grade he attended the Saturday Morning Art League and studied with Clarence Wood. While attending Temple University Tyler School of Art, Lewis came to realize that watercolor was his medium of preference. During his four years at Temple, he majored in Graphic Design, Illustration and Art Education. After graduating, he taught art in public schools for twelve years. Presently, E.B. teaches at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. He is also a member of The Society of Illustrators in New York City, and an artist member of Salamagundi Art Club of New York.
