Texture art show at MV Playhouse. —Alex Wright

This exhibition explores, “texture,” one of the foundational elements of art and design.  A collection of artwork by Island painter Isaac Hurwitz, and washashore photographer Andrew Rice, will be on display September 2  through September 26th. Rice’s images emphasize found micro-details of everyday surfaces: a weathered building or rusted train car. Hurwitz’s paintings contain layers created to inspire a tangible rhythm on the canvas.

Gallery Hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 11 am to 4 pm. Art Reception, with special musical guest Jess Braccia and a food pop-up by NAMI Ceviche will take place on Wednesday, September 2, from 5 to 7 pm. circuitarts.org.
