Tech Pro MV: Technology help for adults 55-plus

Technology is an important part of everyday life, from staying connected with family and friends to accessing healthcare, managing finances, and finding information online. For adults 55 and older who need a little help navigating technology, Tech Pro MV offers local assistance throughout Martha’s Vineyard at no cost to you.

The Call the Tech Pro program connects adults 55 and older with friendly, patient technology support at their local Council on Aging. No prior technology experience is required, and beginners are welcome.

Tech Pro can help with a wide range of common technology needs, including using smartphones, tablets, and computers; setting up new devices; accessing email and video calls such as Zoom and FaceTime; navigating hospital portals; troubleshooting internet and Wi-Fi issues; printing and scanning; and learning how to stay safe online and avoid scams.

The program is designed to provide assistance in a comfortable, easy-to-understand environment, without pressure or confusing technical jargon. The goal is to help older adults use technology safely and confidently while staying connected and independent.

Drop-in technology help is available during the first and third weeks of the month at the following locations:

Tisbury Council on Aging: Tuesdays, 11:30 am-1 pm.

Up-Island Council on Aging: Thursdays, 11 am-1 pm.

Oak Bluffs Council on Aging: Fridays, 11 am-1 pm.

Edgartown Council on Aging: Second Friday of the month, noon-1 pm.

To get started, contact your local Council on Aging or email Tech Pro MV at techpromvy@gmail.com. You can also learn more about the program and available resources at techpromv.org.

Whether you are learning to use a new smartphone, trying to connect with loved ones online, or simply have a technology question, Tech Pro MV is available to help you build your skills and confidence.
