A neighborhood of permanently affordable rental units in Oak Bluffs, Tackenash Knoll, is open for applications.
Lease applications opened Oct. 13 and will close on Dec. 13. The homes, built by Island Housing Trust in partnership with the town of Oak Bluffs and Affirmative Investments, will be available to Islanders earning between 30 percent and 120 percent of the area median income (AMI). Tackenash Knoll is a neighborhood of 60 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. It’s located at 85 Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road, next to the YMCA and across from the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.
For applicants who earn below 50 percent AMI, rent is income-based. Those who earn above 50 percent AMI can see applicable rent costs on the application.
Each unit has a dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator. Laundry, a community room, bike racks, and a bus stop are located in common areas in the neighborhood. The apartments are pet-friendly, with a limit of one per unit.
