In 2023, the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod (AFCC) launched its Capacity-Building Program, an initiative aimed at giving artists access to the education, resources, skills, and connections to strengthen the financial side of their creative practice. In January, the program will celebrate its fifth anniversary, with up to 15 artists selected to spend five months learning practical strategies to grow their business.

This is its fifth year running this program, which focuses on giving artists on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. Participants will receive a $1,000 stipend at the completion of the program. This year, AFCC had its first-ever artist from the Vineyard, Jennifer Langhammer, as a participant.

Applications for the program are currently available on the AFCC’s website, artsfoundation.org/capacity-grants-for-artists. The program is open to emerging and established artists on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. The deadline to apply is Friday, Nov. 6, at 11:59 pm.
