We had four of our members attend the Grand National Cribbage Tournament in Niagara Falls this past week — Jack Silvia, Collin Evanson, and Bill and Mary Alice Russell. We represented well, with Bill and Mary Alice taking the Canadian Doubles Championship! There were 120 teams from around the country — we represented the Vineyard proudly. Roy and Tricia would be pretty darn proud of us!

Back to the Grass Roots weekly tournament — 19 members of the Vineyard Cribbage Club met to play our favorite game at the American Legion in Edgartown. The results are as follows:

First, Ed Montesion with a 9/4 + 31 card

Second, Merrily Fenner with an 8/4 +25 card

Third, Doug Werther 8/4 +21 card

Fourth, Judy LoRusso with a 8/4 +19 card

Fifth, Dave Christensen with an 8/4 +4 card

We had only six 24-point hands this week, played by Mary Alice Russell, Frank Fenner, Byram Devine, Sam Cron, and Jack Silvia, who managed two! One flush crib was played by Kathy Kinsman, and six people got skunked (a loss of greater than 30).

If you are interested in cribbage, give us a try! We meet at 5:30 pm on Wednesdays — call or text me at 508-524-1220, or email me at maonmv@mac.com.
