Geraldine Jackson, 93, of Edgartown, passed away quietly, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and deep devotion to the people she cherished.
Geri was predeceased by her husband, George (“Sonny”) Jackson; and her daughter, Cathy Merrill. She is survived by her son, Glenn Jackson; her brother, Dennis Gibson and his wife Helen; her grandchildren, Jennifer Kennedy and her husband Mark, Laura Ruggiero and her husband Joe, Jason Merrill and his wife Katie, and Josh Merrill and his wife Melissa; as well as by nine great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves her dear friend, Patricia Dean, whose companionship meant so much to her throughout the years.
Geri loved her family and friends fiercely. She had a quiet wit, sharp, surprising, and always delivered with a twinkle in her eye. She delighted in being social, opening her home, and entertaining those she loved. Her warmth made every gathering feel special, and her presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew her.
She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her humor, and the deep affection she carried for her family and friends. Her memory will continue to live on in the stories shared, the traditions upheld, and the love she poured into every life she touched.
A private burial was held in the New Westside Cemetery, where she was laid to rest beside her husband.
