A single-vehicle crash at around 6:20 pm sent one person to the hospital Monday.
A Toyota pickup truck slammed into an oak tree outside the Scottish Bakehouse on State Road in Vineyard Haven. At the scene, the driver was treated by responders from Tri-Town Ambulance. The driver was subsequently taken to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.
The impact cut a deep v-shape in the pickup truck’s front end, and left the driver’s-side windshield with a circular impression smashed into it.
Further details on the crash were not available from Tisbury Police.
