What: 38 plastic zip ties, 7.5 inches long in mint condition — two white 12- by 24-inch masonite signboards, blank on both sides, with perforated edges

Where: Strewn along the bike path across from the Y

When: Saturday, Sept. 21, at 1 pm

How: Go to the Oak Bluffs Police Station, pay $25 fine for littering, be reunited. (If items were left over from Friday’s global warming protest, pay double.)

  1. Spokemon makes a great point. Why do we have bike paths if they’re not being maintained? Everyone agrees that there are too many cars on the Island, so let’s encourage bicycling. For people to enjoy biking on MV shouldn’t the bushes that intrude dangerously be pruned once or twice a year? Shouldn’t someone other than Spokemon be in charge of picking up the litter along the paths? Maybe there can be a bike path cleanup day, something like we organize for beach cleanup, an event that makes a real difference in how our beach areas look.
