The Times publishes obituary information including photographs without charge, for current and former residents of Martha’s Vineyard, and for persons with significant ties to the Island community. At a minimum, obituary information should include the date and place of death, cause of death if possible, the deceased’s full name and age, service information, and a contact telephone number for a family member and the funeral home, for verification purposes.
The submission deadline for full obituaries is 5 pm Tuesday, for publication on that Thursday. The Times makes every effort to publish brief death notices containing timely service information, even if received on Wednesday for publication on Thursday.
