On the evening of May 6, Island gallery owners met on the sun-filled patio of Farm Neck Café to compare notes, share ideas, and partake of refreshments. The get-together was hosted by The Martha’s Vineyard Times to celebrate its relationship with the Vineyard arts community, discover some of the things being planned for the upcoming season, and keep open lines of communication. After brief words of welcome from The Times publisher Peter Oberfest, who stated The Times’s committment to supporting Island galleries, those attending provided information about their galleries, artists, and expectations. The informal reception was pronounced a success as owners from galleries around the Island met and mingled.
