Metal winner
The Martha’s Vineyard Fish Farm for Haiti Project is now among the varied booths of original art at the Artisans Festival. The original metal work and paintings are all done by Haitian artists, with all of the proceeds going to bring much-needed supplies to Haiti. The Artisans Festival is held at The Grange Hall in West Tisbury on Sundays, from 10 am to 2 pm, from June through October 3.
A black and white approach
The results of artist Debra Gaines efforts as curator will be displayed at Featherstone Center for the Arts from Sunday, June 27 to Wednesday, July 14. The show, “The Art of Black & White Photography,” will include portraits, landscapes, and still lifes. The opening reception at Featherstone is from 1 pm to 4 pm this Sunday.
Ms. Gaines’s photographic experience is based in film, and she was trained in the darkroom where she learned the art of developing. She is a graduate of a digital photography program at the Rhode Island School of Design.
