To the Editor:
Tis the season
For loss of reason
and impending Doom.
Here on Circus Avenue
The noise of the crowd
Is greater than should be allowed.
Summer cop on the beat
Concedes defeat,
While tourists feeling jolly,
Blithely step into the street,
Not looking for a car.
Fortunately the drivers are.
(Looking, and expecting folly.)
Such pedestrianism is a bad habit to carry
To Beach Road, or home to the City,
Where an ice cream cone
Has no ability
To protect you from the Emergency Room.
