The Derby committee wants the banner that provides a backdrop for so many memorable photos returned.
The banner went missing from the weigh station on Edgartown Harbor sometime between the end of the final weigh-in on Saturday night and the committee’s arrival to take things apart early Sunday morning, committee member John Custer reported.
“We use the same banner annually, only updating the date,” he said. “We’d love to get it back so we don’t have to purchase a new one. It can be returned, no questions asked, to the Edgartown Yacht Club. Any information about it can be sent to mvderbycommittee@gmail.com.”
