Spring sports are about to blossom at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, although most season openers are away.
The girls’ tennis team opens at Sandwich today. Their first home match is with Cape Cod Academy, Wednesday, April 13.
The boys’ tennis team’s first match is at Cohasset today. They play their first home match versus Bishop Feehan, Saturday at 1:00 pm.
The baseball varsity scrimmaged at Norton yesterday after playing at Plymouth South last Saturday. The team looks to improve on its ’10 record. The first home game on the Field of Dreams, will be Sunday, April 10th versus Newburyport.
The softball team’s first home game is Friday, April 8, when Somerset visits. They will already have played at Sturgis.
The boys’ lacrosse team plays at Barnstable, Bridgewater, and Cohasset before entertaining Weston, Saturday at 1:00 pm. Their first league game is with Coyle & Cassidy, Tuesday.
The girls play at Coyle on Tuesday and host Falmouth on April 7 at 4pm.
The girls’ and boys’ track teams have their opening meet at Abington today, travel to Somerset on Tuesday, and return home to meet Cohasset on April 9 at 1pm.
The MVRHS sailors take to the open waters on Saturday against Nauset in Eastham.
