Bradford J. Andrews, 59, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 29, at his home in Edgartown.
Brad was born in Oak Bluffs on October 25, 1951, and attended the Oak Bluffs School. He had worked for Jon’s Taxi Cab service before moving to South Yarmouth. During the period of the late 1980s to the late 1990s while in South Yarmouth he was a cook at various Cape Cod restaurants. After returning to the Vineyard he was a driver for Adam Cab.
Brad enjoyed cooking, hunting, and fishing. He could be heard blocks away as he cheered for his beloved Boston Bruins when they scored and especially when they won the Stanley Cup, which he was glad to witness. He was a former member of the Rod and Gun Club.
He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Andrews of Harwich; his son, Bradford Taylor Andrews of Bellingham; his step-children, Jennifer Marie Guidi of Bellingham and Michelle Lynne Brooke of W. Yarmouth; his sisters, Lynn Searle-Strem and her husband, Daniel Strem, and Cindy Maciel, both of Edgartown; his brother, David Andrews and his wife, Joanie, of Vineyard Haven; his grandchildren Sabrina Lee Forrest and Morgan Lee Cistaro; his great-grandchild, Hailey Lee Franklin; and his sister-in-law, Cindy Andrews of Edgartown; and his nieces and nephews, Marcia Maciel-Vanderhoop, James Andrews Jr., Davey Andrews, Christy Andrews, Tabitha Andrews, Megan Andrews, Sarah Strem, and Mathew Strem. Also by his former wives, Susan Lee Andrews and Gloria Andrews.
He was predeceased by his parents, James J. Andrews and Emily Searle Guisti; his step-daughter, Emily Louise Brooke, and his brother, James “Harpo” Andrews.
His memorial visiting period in Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road, Oak Bluffs, will be held on Saturday, July 9, from 10 to 11 am with his funeral service beginning at 11 am, officiated by Rev. Michael Nagle. A reception will follow at Lattanzi’s Restaurant in Edgartown.
