The best of the Boston Comedy Festival

Steve Sweeney and Founder of the Comedy Festival Jim McCue will perform at Sharky’s in Edgartown on Tuesday. Starting at 9 pm, the duo will showcase Boston’s renowned event, which takes place in November.

The FARM Institute Benefit Night

From 5pm to close on Tuesday, Flatbread Company will host a benefit event for the FARM Institute. A portion of each pizza sale will go to the institute’s education programs.

Soapstone Carving

At Aquinnah Cultural Center, Jonathan Parry will demonstrate soapstone carving. From 11 am to 4 pm, Mr. Parry will show how to carve a pipe from soapstone, material traditionally used for making bowls, cooking pots and jewelry.

Yoga and Sailing

From noon to 6 pm, FLY Yoga will host an event aboard Spirit Seeker. The event will present a unique opportunity to do yoga on a sailboat.

The Well from Hell

Author Bill Sargent will be at Chilmark Public Library to talk about his newest book, The Well from Hell: The BP Oil Spill and the Endurance of Big Oil. The discussion starts at 5:30 pm on Wednesday. The book talks about political and environmental complications caused by the BP oil spill in Gulf of Mexico and BP’s corporate culture.

Sol y Canto

Latin music ensemble, Sol y Canto, will perform at the Chappy Community Center on Wednesday. The show begins at 7:30 pm, but before the concert, the Center will serve chips, quacamole and salsa.
