Suzanne M. “Suzy” Mitchell, 54, died peacefully and with dignity surrounded by her loving family on Friday, February 3, after a short illness resulting from complications with early/young onset Alzheimer’s Disease at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans, Vermont.

Suzy was born in Burlington, Vermont, on March 27, 1957, the daughter of Paul W. and Pauline (Hebert) Mitchell. She was raised in Burlington, and she was a graduate of Burlington High School.

Suzy was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, Godmother, wife and friend. We all knew her as someone special.

She formed a large circle of lifelong friends there while working as an office manager/bookkeeper and librarian. She was a music lover and an avid reader who loved babies, children, dogs, and was quick to make friends through her kindness to all.

Suzy is survived by her parents, Paul and Pauline Mitchell; her siblings, Kathleen Beach, Thomas and Jill Mitchell, Lisa and David Delibac, Patrick and Sybil Mitchell; her nieces and nephews, Avery and Lauren Beach, Ladd and Marla Cline, Haley Delibac, Elizabeth, Corinne, Rachel, and Maureen Mitchell. Suzy also leaves behind many cousins and close friends throughout Vermont, New England, and across the country.

Suzy’s family wishes to offer their special thanks to Dr. Michael Johnson, and the Doe family and staff of Our Lady of the Meadows.

In Suzy’s memory and that of her dogs, Stella and Bella, contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Chittenden County, 142 Kindness Court, South Burlington, VT 05403.
