Martha’s Vineyard skaters shine in Rockland

Two skaters from the Martha’s Vineyard Figure Skating Club competed well in the 5th annual South Shore Open in Rockland on Sunday, March 18. The skaters are coached by Jane Elizabeth Taylor.

Sally Caron placed 2nd in Preliminary Moves in the Field and landed all of her single jumps in her Preliminary Freestyle program.

Lily Davey landed her first axel in competition, placing 4th in Juvenile Girls. She also won Novice Moves in the Field with all first-place marks.

Ice show this weekend

Look for Martha’s Vineyard Figure Skating Club members, alumni, coaches, and returning guest skater, 2012 senior men’s competitor Alexander Aiken to perform in GLEE: Hits on Ice! at the M.V. Arena this weekend. Performances are Saturday at 6 pm and Sunday at 2 pm. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and children. The family rate is $25 dollars.
