To the Editor:

I am concerned about the tone that the newspaper is taking lately. The writing has been sounding less and less objective, and the choices of front page headline stories have been very strange.

For example, was it really front page news that a teacher at the Oak Bluffs school showed a movie deemed inappropriate? Then there was the Letter to the Editor from Erik Albert, with a very sarcastic headline attached (by the editor, we assume).

Last week, the front page article about the young girl driving her car into the water was headlined “Hawkeye was there,” and the article read like a humor piece. But it wasn’t funny, and the newspaper is demeaning itself by reporting that way.
