Animals up for adoption at Martha’s Vineyard shelters

There are two facilities on the Island that offer animals for adoption: the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard (ASMV) in Edgartown and Martha’s Vineyard Helping Homeless Animals (MVHHA) in Oak Bluffs.

Sissy and Panther

Sissy and Panther are brother and sister. Though only a year old, they have been through been through the hardship losing their loving home when their family who became homeless and had to give them up. They are a sweet and loving pair in need only of a home with a lap to sit on.


Fluff is a 10-year old female, likely with some siamese in her. Recent dental work has left her in perfect, healthy conditions. Despite past hardships, she still trusts and loves people, children, dogs , and other cats. You won’t find a more happy and friendly girl than Fluff.


Sassy the calico is about six years old. She had surgery on her eyelids and is now able to see everything, from the laps she loves sitting on and the children, dogs, and other cats she easily befriends. She is sweet little girl who is looking for a place to call home.



Once a traumatized, frightened, and shy kitty, Chloe has bloomed into a sweet and loving girl in need of a stable, caring person to share a home with.


Celia is sweet and hypnotically beautiful. She spends her time in the lobby as a social greeter of guests, and she gets along well with other cats. A spayed three-year old female, Chloe would love to find a best friend.


Panchie is a beautiful, sweet, short-haired two-year-old male who is neutered and in need of a home.


Butter is a calico and as sweet as they come. Meet her and give her a chance to win your heart.


This five-year old male ginger cat has a big personality. He is neutered, super affectionate, and waiting for somebody special to take him home.


Thor is a big cat with an even bigger heart. He needs weight management and a conscientious family, and will return the favor with joy and love to whoever adopts him.


This sweet and lovely golden female tabby needs a loving home and friend.
