Weekend of fashion and flowers

This Saturday is the fourth annual Garden Tea Party and Fashion Show, hosted by Featherstone Center for the Arts in Oak Bluffs. Watch as Islanders strut their stuff on the catwalk while enjoying refreshments, from 2 to 4 pm.

Then on Sunday, Featherstone celebrates its annual Art of Flowers show reception with guest curator Holly Alaimo, from 4 to 6 pm. The show continues through May 29.

Helping neighbors

The annual fundraiser for the Martha’s Vineyard Cancer Support Group, An Evening Under the Stars, is this Tuesday, May 14, at Lattanzi’s Restaurant in Edgartown. From 6 to 9 pm, guests will enjoy live music, hors d’oeuvres, and desserts, all while benefiting the Island nonprofit that works to help Vineyarders in need. Tickets are $100. Gardening geniuses

At this Saturday’s Vineyard Gardens weekly gardening lecture, learn about both perennials and annuals, and why you should have both in your garden. The free lectures are at 11 am and feature different topics each week, as well as coupons and popcorn. For more information, call 508-693-8511.
