Powwow starts Saturday
The ninth annual Aquinnah Wampanoag Powwow is this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 7 and 8, at the Aquinnah Circle. Gates open at 10 am each day and the two-day event features traditional dancing and music, food, and a look into the Native American culture. Fall at Felix Neck
Felix Neck is still bustling with activities even though the summer rush is over. Every Thursday in September features Early Birders, from 8 to 9:30 am. Join Felix Neck birders for a walk around the grounds to look for late summer and early fall birds ($4; free for members). Also coming up, on Sept. 7 and 14, are two Guided Kayak tours, where a sanctuary guide leads a kayak ride in Sengekontacket Pond. Community Open Stage at Alex’s Place
At Alex’s Place, the first Friday of every month is Community Open Stage. All are invited to perform and enjoy the show, at the teen center’s location in the YMCA of M.V. in Oak Bluffs.
