The Martha’s Vineyard Girls Youth U-15 lacrosse team closed out their undefeated 8-0 season on Saturday with a hard-fought 11-10 win over Dartmouth. The Vineyard trailed most of the game, but with five minutes remaining took control and scored two unanswered goals for the win.
Addy Hayman led the scoring with four goals, followed by Lily Pigott with three, Julia Reagan with two. Alexis Condon and Sally Caron each had one.
Goalie Hailey Meader had seven saves and shut down Dartmouth’s end-of-game surge, securing the win.
Coach Bob Hayman attributed his team’s success to solid ball control, consistency, and multiple talents. “Throughout the season, the team was very consistent on both offense and defense, with many players making contributions to a perfect season,” he said in an email to The Times.
