The Winter Farmer’s Market at the Agricultural Hall in West Tisbury was bustling with activity on Saturday. Residents and visitors alike found fresh meats and vegetables as well as a plentiful array of locally made products to chose from. Vendors included Holly Bellebuono of Vineyard Herbs with her special herbal teas and medicinals, Biga Bakery, offering tempting breads and scones, and Martha’s Vineyard Sea Salt, featuring fruit flavored salts culled from the waters of South Beach. Shoppers enjoyed the music of The Cattle Drivers while stopping for hot soup or lunch items by Deborah Koines of Little Rock Farm served in front of the fireplace. The daily special, chicken and biscuits, featured chicken from West Tisbury’s Back 40 Farm and nitrate-free hot dogs with chili were made from Blackwater Farm beef. The homemade cornbread came complete with Island Bee’s local honey butter. The Market is open every Saturday, 10 am to 1 pm through December (except Nov. 29).
