Times correspondent Edie Prescott rode the boat with the MVRHS boys soccer team on Tuesday morning, as they traveled to Taunton to compete in the Division 3 South semi-finals against Medway.

“The boys are excited and everyone is pretty pumped,” she reported. “When asked his thoughts on today’s game,  star defenseman Alex GordonBeck said, ‘It’s gonna be some nice redemption,’  in reference to last season, when Medway High School, today’s opponent, ended the Vineyard’s road to the State Championship. Elie Jordi added, ‘We’re gonna win.'”

First seed Medway was 17-1 in the regular season. If the Vineyard wins today’s game, they will play the winner of the Norwell/Foxboro semifinal for the Division 3 South Championship. Four more games stand between the Vineyarders and the State Championship: the Division 3 South semifinals and finals, followed by semifinals and finals of the State Tournament.

Game time is 1:30 pm. Coach Estaban Aranzabe told The Times, “Everybody’s happy and we’re ready to go.”
