On Monday, Feb. 2, the Tisbury School MathCounts team (Dougie Norton, David Krauthamer, Owen Porterfield, and Jason Davey), along with Isabelle Custer, Bryce Nightlinger, Reinaldo Dos Santos, Nathaniel Packer, Sam Cranston, Julia Kane, and Henry Hitchings and teacher coaches Vanessa Forrester and Sue Canham traveled to Normandin Middle School, New Bedford, to compete in the Southeast Chapter MathCounts competition. Although the team made a great showing among the 14 schools represented, they did not place high enough to go to state team competition. However, Dougie Norton, who finished in fifth place overall among the 100 individual competitors, qualified for the Massachusetts State Competition on March 7.
