Behind on your New Year’s resolution to do more cooking? Eager to discover some new recipes and kitchen skills to impress guests at your summer dinner parties? Now is the time to learn something new with private chef, celebrated cookbook author, and all-around culinary wonder Catherine Walthers.

Catherine has scheduled four upcoming classes that are bound to get your creative cooking juices flowing.

Cooking Class — 3 Flatbreads, 3 Spreads, 3 Drinks. Saturday, April 11, 2 to 6 pm. $69.

With Catherine and Bread Project baker Kate Warner. This is a demonstration and hands-on class with recipes for entertaining and enjoying. Participants will learn how to make homemade pita bread, multi-seed crick-cracks (Turkish-style crackers), and savory flatbread focaccia. Participants will also make and enjoy various spreads and appetizers, and learn how to produce delicious-tasting seasonal garden-to-glass cocktails.

Mermaid Farm Tour and Class: A Look at Yogurt. Saturday, May 9, 10 am to 1:30 pm. $69.

With Catherine and Mermaid Farm owner and farmer Allen Healy. This class starts at Mermaid Farm, which makes a creamy, delicious yogurt from its Jersey cows, for a tour of the yogurt kitchen and cheese cave. From the farm, participants will go to the West Tisbury Kitchen Lab for class, featuring yogurt in the many ways it can be used. Participants will enjoy yogurt creations for snacks, salad, lunch, and dessert.

Creating a Signature Cocktail. Friday, June 5, 6:30 to 9:30 pm. $85.

With Catherine and cocktail experts from Boston’s Booze Époque, a craft-cocktail catering company from Cambridge. Participants will be guided through the process of creating a beautiful signature cocktail, and will discuss the fundamentals of cocktail making, including tools and bartending methods. This will be followed by a tasting of premium spirits, mixers, fresh fruit, and herbs. Appetizers will be served throughout the evening.

Tequila Tasting. Saturday, June 6, 4 pm to 6:30 pm. $79.

With Catherine and the owners of Booze Époque. Explore the world of tequila from the highlands and lowlands of Jalisco, and mezcal from beyond. Participants will be walked through a colorful history of mezcal and tequila with tastings, cocktails, and food pairings. Participants will also have the opportunity to taste and experiment with an array of ingredients perfect for creating agave-based cocktails.
