Featherstone and Beetlebung are teaming up to launch Feed Island Art, a Sunday dinner initiative to benefit the local arts community on the Island. Dine on Sunday evenings at Beetlebung Restaurant & Bar in Oak Bluffs, and 15 percent of your dinner check will go to Featherstone Center of the Arts. In addition, 15 percent of all purchases at Beetlebung’s retail store during the Sunday dinners will also be donated to Featherstone.
Beetlebung has a long history of supporting Island arts. In an email to The Times Renee Molinari, co-owner of Beetlebung with husband John Molinari, said “We’ve collaborated with Island artists since we opened our doors in 2005. Our retail products – from clothing to beach towels to mugs – are a result of this collaboration. Vineyard culture is authentic, original, and creative, a magnet for many talented artists, and we wanted to express that unique Island culture through what we offer in our retail stores in Oak Bluffs and Menemsha. Ten years later we probably have over 30 original designs.”
Beetlebung’s merchandise selection features clothing and gifts by local graphic designs, including Dan Waters, John Holladay, Louisa Gould, Eric Hawkes, and several Boston-based artists.
Feed Island Art begins Sunday, June 7, and continues weekly through Sunday, June 28, at Beetlebung Restaurant & Bar, 53 Circuit Avenue, Oak Bluffs. For additional information, call 508-696-0053 or visit beetlebung.com to make a reservation online.
